Important milestones of our school

Kuruvangad girls that had been jointly founded by Sri Vazhayil Onakkan Vaidiar and Sri Vayanari Rarichan Vaidiar in the year 1919 was subsequently renamed as Kuruvangad Central U P School. In the beginning only girls where admitted but later in 1920 boys were also admitted in the school .In the academic year 1920- 21, 68 students including 52 girls and16 boys were enrolled.This is a clear indication that during this period, residents of this region were very much aware of the education of the girls. As the manager of the school was the authorised representative, the Headmaster seemed to have no important role in the administration till 1928 which is evident from the school register that bears no nameor signature of the Head master. Sri. Kunjiraman Kurup and Sri P. Kanaran Master were the Head masters since 1932 and 1936 respectively. Thereafter Smt. E . Kunhamma Teacher W% of Sri. M. Chathukutty Master (1938) and M.Chathukutty master (year 1939) were the Head masters. When the school was upgraded to upper primary, Smt. Rajammal , Sri .M. K Kunhiraman, Sri.E.K. Padmanabhan master and R. Subramanian Namboodiri worked as Head master respectively. Presently, Sri Gopakumar Chathoth is the Head master of the school. The founder of the school Sri.Onakkan Vaidiar handed over the ownership of the school to his cousin Sri. Chathukutty Master, Sri.Viswanathan ,and Sri.Narikkuni Edamana Vishnu Namboodiri became the manager of this school. At present, the manager of the school is N.E Mohanan Namboodiri.Many former teachers and students of this school were the front warriors of the freedom struggle. Sri. Keloth Chathukutty, Sri .Vayanadan Mandy Kunhiraman, Sri.Kanath Gopinathan Nair, Sri Unni master, Sri.A.Gangadharan Menon were a few among them and the list of the whole warriors can't be filled in due to insufficient space. Great personalities who made their marks in the spheres of social , cultural, political, arts and sports were the parts of history of this school that gifted to us many proud moments . Our school that is celebrating its 106 th year is a prominent school in Koyilandi sub district.
